It is important to use it sparingly, as this type of cream is very effective, but if applied too generously may clog pores; however, it does not cause flare-ups. It is also good to use creams with high levels of sunscreen in them; it helps to prevent scars caused by what is called hyperpigmentation. This occurs when the skin reacts to UV sunlight while being treated for acne.  Many acne scars are caused by internal inflammation of the skin, as are most other types of scars, and it is very hard to know what the best acne scar cream is. Using an over the counter scar cream may be most effective, but if not, see a dermatologist immediately as there may be a deeper issue at hand.
